Mission Statement

The purpose of the Mid-Michigan Bully rescue is to aid in the placement of stray and unwanted Dogs and mixes thereof. We educate the public about unecessary breeding, cruelty (dog fighting), and any negative misconceptions people may have about any particular breed.

Donations are a big part of a rescue. Adoption fees rarely cover the expenses involved in saving and caring for that animal. All money received by our organization/group is always applied directly towards the care and well-being of rescued animals. The money allows us to spay/neuter, vaccinate, and feed dogs who have had a very difficult life before we rescued them and we use our funds up front for their care. Donations help ease that burden, and make it possible to save more lives. We rely on private donations and adoption fees to fund our rescue, which covers the cost of out-of-pocket expenses such as vet care, food.

We require an application for every pet, and if adopted, a signed contract and adoption fee, or comparable donation of food/pet supplies/etc, following adoption, we perform a 30-day and 6 month follow up, including veterinary reference check. We go to great lengths to try and help as many people as possible that need to re-home their pet. If you have found a dog and need our help, please consider making a donation. The dog will cost at least $100 out of pocket to care for, so any help is appreciated. We are NOT tax exempt and do not plan on becoming tax exempt until we decide to become a much bigger rescue.

Our priority list is as follows:
1. Dogs in danger (abuse, neglect, targeted for euthanasia).
2. Strays
3. Owner Surrender (Those of you who are seeking to surrender your dog because of pregnancy, divorce, moving, allergies, etc. We recommend that you find another alternative because we do not feel any of these reasons are a valid excuse for getting rid of your pet).
